Sony has announced the arrival of the VPL-VW500ES home cinema projector in India and is asking for an amount of Rs 7,99,000 from users who wish to grab one of these. In case you are wondering why it is so expensive, let us tell you that it supports 4K UHD images for an immersive experience at home. The peripheral is slated to be made available in India some time in the month of November.
Apart from rendering clear and stunning visuals in 4096 x 2160p resolution, the projector boasts of a dynamic contrast ratio of 200,000:1 which does its bit in maintaining the improved picture quality. Sony claims that it produces 4K native resolution without using any artificial pixel enhancement techniques. The device’s ability to spurt out accurate images regardless of the lighting condition can be attributed to 1,700 ANSI lumens brightness.
The projector has been deployed with an optical engine, SXRD panels and Triluminous display technology as well. There’s MotionFlow technology to do away with the blur effects in fast-moving pictures and a built-in RF transmitter for compatibility with any RF 3D glasses.
Not only can you use the projector for enjoying 4K content at home, but also watch your full HD Blu-ray and DVDs which are automatically upscaled to 4K. 3D movies can also be viewed in this resolution. Its screen size ranges anywhere between 60 inches to 300 inches. This black-colored projector weighs approximately 14 kilograms and is crammed into a chassis measuring 495.6 x 195.3 x 463.6 millimeters.
