Sony Honami may ditch i1 and go by Xperia Z1 name instead

It was known that the Sony Honami would take up a different name eventually, but as against most of the previously made speculations, the device will apparently be christened Xperia Z1 and not i1. Tagging along with the Sony smartphone’s so-called official moniker are press shots displaying the device in a whole new light.

It looks like the color purple has hopped onto the cart once again, together with the traditional hues of black and white. The press shot comes courtesy of ePrice which has religiously rendered every piece of information concerning the smartphone that we could possibly imagine. Although not much can be deciphered from the image, we can say that the gadget in it looks similar to that seen in older leaks and the flash indeed rests beneath the rumored 20MP camera.

As for the handset’s name, the folks over of at Unwired View have given credit to Twitter account, @doomlord_xda, for delivering this tidbit. Offering leverage to the news is yet another tweet by an editor from a French site known as NowhereElse, the post added.

Even with less than a month to go for the Berlin event wherein the Honami (or Xperia Z1) is slated to be unveiled, the leaks have anything but stopped. This does take away the element of surprise, but hey, nothing’s etched in stone just yet. So stay tuned to this space for more.
