Sony Ericsson YariSony Ericsson recently made public a new multimedia phone called the Yari. It provides a completely redefined dimension to mobile gaming with the introduction of the Gesture technology.

In this phone the gaming boundaries are unhindered irrespective of the location. It offers gaming lovers a treat, providing a plethora of games that is waiting to be to be explored. Fully packed with motion and standard games, the gaming experience is persistent. This mobile phone launches games carousel in which users can play games from their desktops and browse downloadable content on the Play Now arena.

The device comprises of a state-of-the art music player and stereo speakers for easy listening. It also allows sharing of favorite tracks. To boost the gaming experience the Yari encompasses the EC500 phone stand. The phone stand has built in keyring which ensures portability and makes sure that the user does not miss any of the gaming experiences. The Outdoor Wireless Speaker MS500 helps users to pedal the volume. Yari supports the GSM/GPRS/EDGE850/900/1800/1900 and the UMTS/HSDPA900/2100 network.

This phone sports a 5 mega pixel camera with 4x digital zoom and auto focus features and permits smile detection and geo tagging. The photo fix, photo feeds and photo light facilitate better image capturing. It also supports Video recording and Video light. Services like Exchange ActiveSync, Predictive text input, Sound Recorder makes messaging fun. Polyphonic ring tones, call lists and Video calling enable consumers to communicate efficiently.

The Yari claims to be a treat for music lovers as well. It features album art, a music player, stereo speakers, Bluetooth stereo (A2DP), Mega bass, Track Id and Shake control. Organizing becomes easy with the Organizer that consists of an Alarm clock, Calendar, Calculator, Flight mode, Phone book, Stop watch and many other features.

This GPS enabled phone is DNLA-certified and provides synchronization. Google Maps and PictBridge help users for effective connectivity. The Web features include Access Net Front Web browser, bookmarks, and web feeds. Entertainment ceases to end with the Yari. Consisting of the Walk Mate, FM Radio with RDS, You Tube, Gesture and Motion Gaming, users can experience every genre of entertainment at their finger tips.

The phone also presents an auto rotate feature with torch functionality and pictorial wallpapers. Its dimensions are 100 x 48 x 15.7 mm and it weighs just 115 grams. It boasts of 60MB phone memory with a Sandisk microSD memory card. It provides a GSM/GPRS talk time of up to 10 hrs while the talk time of UMTS is up to 4.5hrs. It supports a standby time of up to 450hrs and provides a QVGA resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.

Accessories included are a battery charger, USB cable, 1GB Micro SD card, EC500 phone stand and MH300 head set. The Yari is available in Achromatic Black and Cranberry White.

The Yari will be available in selected markets from early Q4 2009.
