Launched in June, the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray made its debut in the US market yesterday. It is now available via online store Newegg. Possessing an aluminum body, the smart handset is powered by a 1GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3.4.

Newegg is offering the unlocked version of this mobile phone packed with numerous features. Measuring 111mm x 53mm x 9.4 mm, it equips a 3.3-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution. Featuring 1GB internal memory and 512 MB RAM, the device comes integrated with a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of additional storage.

Incorporating the high color Bravia engine, the mobile phone’s display offers images and videos with utmost clarity and definition. Weighing 100g, the Xperia ray embeds an 8.1MP camera with Exmor R technology which enables users to capture stills and videos in HD.

Newegg is currently offering the 3G enabled device only in white, although it also comes in shades of black, pink and gold. The mobile phone provides users access to more than 2, 00,000 apps available in the Android Market. Operating on a 1500mAh battery, this handset accommodates support for Bluetooth, HSPA and GPS. It provides a standby and talk time of up to 430 and 6 hours respectively.
