Sony Ericsson Xperia pro to arrive this month

Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro The Sony Ericsson Xperia pro smartphone had debuted at the Mobile World Congress in February and it is now all set to commence retailing later this month. It operates on Android 2.3 and features a sliding QWERTY keypad.

Also talked about as an Android business phone, this handset comes with 1GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB with microSD cards. Integrated with 512MB RAM, it possesses a 3.7-inch TFT display featuring a resolution of 854 x 480p. Measuring 120mm × 57mm × 13.7mm, the smartphone is capable of supporting various connectivity options such as GSM, EDGE, GPRS, EDGE and Bluetooth.

Users can enjoy a talk and standby time of 7 and 430 hours, respectively with the Xperia pro. Weighing 142g, it incorporates an 8MP camera with features like 16x zoom, auto focus, Exmor R CMOS sensor geo-tagging, red-eye reduction, face detection and touch focus. The camera allows users to capture photos with 3D Sweep Panorama and view them on a 3DTV or a multi-angle 3D display.

Music lovers should have a gala time with this device as it comes equipped with Sony’s xLoud engine audio filter technology and the TrackID music recognition feature. TrackID lets users record a few seconds of a song and receive information about the track, artist and album on their phone within a few moments. Furthermore, the smartphone offers various other features like Google Search, Voice, Talk, Mail, Maps along with access to the vast Android Market.

To be available in red, black and silver later this month through authorized Sony retailers, the price of the Sony Ericsson Xperia pro is unclear for now.
