Sony Ericsson Xperia mini reaches Japan via EMOBILE

Sony Ericsson Mini Collaborating with Japan’s EMOBILE broadband service, the Sony Ericsson Xperia mini smartphone was unveiled in Tokyo last week. The handset is now available to EMOBILE customers in Japan as the Sony Ericsson mini.

Touted to be the world’s smallest Android smartphone, the Ericsson mini is a compact device weighing 99g. With a form factor as small as a business card, the handset runs on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It comes equipped with Sony’s Mobile Bravia engine which is engineered to deliver high quality image definition and clarity of display.

Offering users access to hundreds of apps in the Android Market, this smartphone enables smooth wireless operation as it features support for DLNA and Wi-Fi. It also lends support to various connectivity options such as GSM, GPRS, EDGE, HSPA and Bluetooth.

Employing 512MB RAM, the device operates on Android 2.3 and comes dressed in vivid shades of blue and dark pink besides the standard black and white. Measuring 88mm × 52mm × 16mm, it provides internal storage of up to 320MB expandable by up to 32GB with a microSD card slot. Launched in August this year, the smartphone comes with a talk time and a standby time of up to 4.5 hours and 340 hours, respectively.

The Sony Ericsson mini is expected to be available at authorized retail stores in Japan soon. Details regarding its exact pricing and availability date have not been disclosed.
