The question of ‘What’s in a name?’ can probably be answered best by Sony Ericsson who seems to care a lot. The company has decided that resident mobile phone enthusiasts in France will have to ask for the ‘kyno’ when they want to buy the Xperia neo, reports Unwired View.

Apparently, this comes after a Facebook contest was thrown open asking interested visitors to vote for a suitable French moniker for the Xperia neo. People were supposedly given the option to vote for either Xperia steady or Xperia kyno.

Users seem to have decided upon the present name choice as the lesser of two evils. It doesn’t look like any of the specs are going to change though. These cover the Android 2.3 OS, a 3.7” display, an 8.1MP camera and a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

According to Sony Ericsson’s Facebook page, the smartphone can be expected to hit stores sometime in July.
