The saying ‘Change is the only constant thing in the universe’ is especially true when it comes to technology, as innovations are of a very dynamic nature. Adding to its lineup of Extras, Sony Ericsson brings out LiveView. Dipped in wireless technology, this product enables handset owners to remotely access their phones.

With this accessory, the company offers customers the ability to enjoy an excellent mobile phone experience with the help of the open Android platform. It utilizes Bluetooth connectivity in order to pair it with a compatible handset. Users can control their phones, check incoming calls, read text messages and stay updated with the latest Facebook and Twitter feeds. Furthermore, music aficionados can even select music tracks and access the volume controls through this device.

Mikael Henriksson, Head of creation and offering planning at Sony Ericsson Extras, stated, “It is our ambition to be THE Communication Entertainment brand and this includes being the most open mobile phone brand on the market. We believe in openness and offering consumers a wide range of applications to choose from. We will continue to develop accessories to ensure we play a major and groundbreaking role in the market and design innovative and exciting accessories for all platforms, including Android.”

LiveView’s display mirrors the phone, alerting users instantly with important notifications. Moreover, it doubles up as a calendar reminder showcasing the events along with other phone apps. Developers can use this platform to create a myriad of applications for it. This unique peripheral can be clipped onto a watch, bag, laptop or a keychain for quick access.

Sony Ericsson’s has also introduced the Sony Ericsson LiveWare Manager application to find software compatible with the device. This manager is available via Android Market or will come pre-loaded in the phone bundles. The Sony Ericsson LiveView is slated to hit the stores by the fourth quarter of this year. Moreover it will also be included in one of the Sony Ericsson Experience Packs.
