Song download-cancer donation initiative iPhone app

Cancer Donation iPhone App A music charity project known as ‘Pioneer for a Cure’ which is supported by Joodayoh Inc. recently unveiled an iPhone App for its song download-cancer donation initiative. The executive team aims to enhance App features and expand distribution to the ever-increasing number of iPhone users, music enthusiasts, music history admirers and micro-philanthropists.

Downtown New York composer and saxophonist Greg Wall, the project’s Producer and curator commented, “I think it’s beyond cool to find a cancer fighting iPhone App that offers such a vast musical array; traditional, jazz, roots, klezmer, rock, hip-hop, pop, folk, avant-garde, contemporary, Mid-Eastern, punk and reggae sounds all co-existing under one thematic roof. Think of our iPhone App as a musical tasting platter for the aural senses.”

The iPhone App presents streaming previews of a growing roster of songs, behind the scenes podcast by award winning NPR radio-journalist Jon Kalish and featured artist biographies. The app is embedded within the 1.1 version which features a collection of 40 participating musicians mixed by the legendary Bob Clearmountain, mixer of choice for Bruce Springsteen and The Rolling Stones.

“The Pioneers for a Cure journey has launched with ‘The Postcard Project: Songs That Built the State of Israel’ – and we’ve already begun recording well-known American artists for a USA Pioneers for a Cure project slated for a 2010 release. Concurrently, an international outreach is underway to enlist other nations to discover and re-introduce their music/culture/history to a new generation all while fighting the common nemesis of cancer – and not one another. What better way to reach across borders than the world’s most celebrated software platform – the iPhone App,” stated Executive Producer, Beth Ravin, a Trustee of the Recording Academy and a percussionist.

The app facilitates users to learn about the project, listen to streaming music previews, share information with others and connect to the ‘Pioneers For a Cure’ website to make donations.

The pricing and the availability details of the app are still under wraps.
