Snapdeal has managed to get in on a deal which lets it sell the recently announced GOQii fitness tracker in India. Well, Flipkart has its Moto smartphones exclusive and Snapdeal just had to have something to talk about. Interested parties can place their pre-orders through the online retailer or simply visit the official GOQii page and do the same.
But it’s not like Snapdeal’s giving you any reason to order the wearable through its portal instead of GOQii’s. The band is still being sold at the same Rs 5,999 for a 6-month plan and Rs 9,999 for a 12-month plan. The device will start shipping to customers in April, that’s next month.
The monthly plan rate we’re referring to is for the support system which will be accompanying the tracker. In other words, GOQii is trying to sell not just the hardware, but an entire lifestyle revolving around the wearable. Sounds tiring to us couch potatoes. But for those of you who want someone to help whip you into shape, this is it.
The band, which is connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth LE, keeps track of the amount of exercise you’ve done during a specified period and sends the data to the connected app that you’ll be asked to download onto your handset. The GOQii comes with real human coaches and lifestyle/nutrition experts who can use this information to set you on the path to a healthy life.
That’s only if the body is willing, of course. Some of us need more persuasive coaches who can physically shake us out of our cushy seats.
