Sekai Camera, enjoy social tagging on the iPhone

iPhone,TonchidotOne of the coolest things to be showcased at the TechCrunch50 conference was a sci-fi demo of real time visual geotag service. Developed by Tokyo-based mobile application provider Tonchidot, an iPhone-exclusive social tagging service called Sekai Camera was exhibited.

Pretty much of a crowd pleaser, the Sekai Camera service should get your imagination running wild. Users will apparently be able to use the camera on the iPhone as a mobile information terminal that should link the real world by tags generated by the owner along with information scraped by other web services. So you can now walk around town looking at your iPhone’s display to get information on the surroundings.

The software should apparently navigate through nearly every decision you take. It will provide instant information on any item, product, restaurant or store within your sight. Browse menus, check prices, or watch a customer’s product review, by simply showing it your iPhone. The application additionally boasts of an impressive feature called the subway map directory. Tourists can take full advantage of this feature to obtain simplified route directions from another user instead of trying to decipher the confusing, color-patterned routes that many tourists are unfamiliar with.

While the mind-boggling concept behind this revolutionary technology is still under wraps, we can’t wait for this one to release.
