Indian BlackBerry fans have yet another reason to rejoice. An announcement today by RIM reveals the release of the highly anticipated BlackBerry Bold in India. The phone is all set to rock the Indian smartphone market via 3 major network carriers namely, Vodafone, Airtel and Reliance.

A highly stylish phone targeted at business professionals and power users, the new BlackBerry Bold incorporates a stunning HVGA LCD color display along with a precise QWERTY keyboard. Fabricated to appease the chic audience, the smartphone is encompassed by a lustrous black exterior along with a satin chrome finished frame and a stylish leatherette back plate.

One of the first BlackBerry phones to support tri-band HSDPA network, the BlackBerry Bold is packed with quad-band EDGE support, high performance HTML browser, built-in GPS, a 1 GB on board memory with an external microSD/SDHC card slot and Wi-Fi along with a 1500 mAhr battery. Equipped with a 2 megapixel camera that has zoom, built-in flash and video recording capabilities, the smartphone additionally boast of a high speed USB 2.0 and applications that include support for BlackBerry’s Internet Services, BlackBerry Enterprise Server and Facebook.

Pre-installed DataViz Documents To Go, BlackBerry Desktop Manager and instant messaging with BlackBerry Messenger, Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger are some other attributes of the BlackBerry Bold.

The smartphone should start retailing at select Vodafone and Airtel stores by end of September 2008 for a price of Rs. 34,990. For the same price the phone will be available through Reliance Communications by end of October 2008.
