Seesmic Android App gets updated

Seesmic Android AppThe Seesmic blog reports that Seesmic’s Android application has been upgraded with new features. The application has been incorporated with three additional features, namely Widget, Geotagging and Native Retweet.

The Widget feature is a first from Seesmic for Android. In order to add a widget, users need to press and hold on to the homescreen. The added widget can later be used to view the timeline from the device’s homescreen. Users can either read a previous tweet or even compose a new tweet from the widget and send it across to friends and family.

With the Geotagging function, users can let people know about the place they are tweeting from with Seesmic’s full geolocation support. This function allows users to check tweets that support geolocation graphically. The location details can either be entered specifically for each message, or automatically configured in the settings. Furthermore, there have been a number of fixes and improvements in the application as well. Seesmic has fixed the ‘Null Notifications’ as well as other inputs on tweets, replies and DMs.

The Native Retweet feature has been designed in accordance with Twitter’s native retweet functionality. Users can pick from either retweeting in the new way, or the old ‘Quote’ way which allows users to add comments to the retweet. While retweeting the Quote way, users can choose the style of their quote from ‘RT’ or ‘via’.

The Seesmic Android application can be downloaded from the Android market.
