SatNav dishes out GPS-equipped SatGuide Child Phone with tracker

SatGuide Child Phone The deluge of technological offerings has penetrated into varying segments of consumers including teenagers and kids. With growing demands for mobile phone devices from this age group and unremitting parental concerns, several manufacturers have been sketching viable options. SatNav Technologies recently announced a new product namely the SatGuide GPS-enabled Child Phone to satiate these needs.

Purging fears of misuse, this handset has been engineered to track users both under the sky and roofs. While users are parked in a building, its GPS feature keeps a tab on their movements through the Cell Tower network. Further, the implanted GPS Geo-fence notifies parents about their kids’ movements if they move out of an earmarked area.

“Countries like China are tackling the problem of lost children by giving away such GPS devices free to their school children through bodies like Red Cross and others. In our country, we cannot expect such luxuries since the Government’s apathy towards GPS is evident from the fact that it attracts an unusually high rate of import duty at almost 30%, affecting its growth. So private sector needs to take the lead and directly approach consumers, in this case parents of children, to take advantage of such high end technologies,” remarked Amit Prasad, Founder & MD, SatNav Technologies.

Embedded with five preset phone numbers, the handset enables children to text or call as well receive messages and other communication only from their parents’ authorized numbers. Plus, it does not render web browsing capabilities which is said to keep them away from fancy chats, MMS and other potentially inappropriate content.

The device has been sculpted into a sleek model and ensures smooth as well as easy functioning. Compatible with GSM Tri-band frequency, it extends timed reporting for strengthening the security fence. This has been plugged to meet the mobile phone demands of children while doing away with parents’ worries. Additionally, the mobile phone comes packed with a free mini USB earphone.

The SatGuide Child Phone can be purchased for Rs. 5,999 which includes a 30-day Tracker Service package. Following this period, users can procure an annual service by shelling out Rs. 499. The company has crafted the new SatTracx Locator service to deliver an efficient and reasonable tracking package.
