Samsung Transform Ultra For Android fans, Sprint has in store the new Samsung Transform Ultra this time around. Prior to this, the device was made available through Boost Mobile without any contract conditions.

Powered by the Gingerbread operating system from Android, the handset gives access to several Google services like Google Mobile, along with several apps from the Android Market. It possesses a slider form factor which is graced with a 3.5-inch HVGA touch screen. And the QWERTY keypad slides out on the side for easy text input.

The user interface of this handset can be modified as it employs the Sprint ID customizable user interface. The carrier describes Sprint ID as a user-friendly means of customizing Android content on mobile phones. The device is 3G enabled and runs on the Sprint 3G EVDO rev.A network.

Multi-tasking needs of users are taken care of with a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor. On the rear, it sports a 3MP camera for capturing images as well as recording videos. Keeping in mind the growing use of video calls, the phone offers a front facing VGA camera as well.

The external memory of this device is expandable up to 32GB with a micro SD card. The smartphone also offers an internal memory of 2GB and is integrated with a RAM of 512MB. Embedded with a 1500mAh Li-ion cell battery, the handset offers talk time of up to 7 hours.

The availability details and price of the Samsung Transform Ultra have not been revealed by Sprint yet. Boost Mobile made it available earlier this month, off-contract, at a price of $229.99.
