comScore report

comScore has released the results of yet another survey which tracked the overall mobile device performance in the U.S. during the three month average period from September to December 2011. In this study, Samsung emerged as the topmost handset manufacturer, while Android dominated the number one position yet again as far as the most used mobile platform goes.

The findings of this research are based on the responses of over 30,000 mobile subscribers in the U.S. who were surveyed by the company’s MobiLens service. Out of the 97.9 million people in the nation who own smartphones, the Google Android mobile platform was employed by 47.3 percent. These results are quite similar to the recently conducted Nielsen survey which also showed Android to be the topmost OS followed by Apple. In this new comScore report, the iOS platform has managed to grab the second position with 29.6 percent market share.
