Samsung S Band fitness tracker rumored features roundup

A Samsung S Band, a fitness tracker which was never released for the Galaxy S4 even though it was made official by the company, is getting a successor soon. Maybe the time wasn’t ripe for wearables back then or maybe Samsung just didn’t have what it takes to be there first. But now that wearable tech is hot, the brand is getting ready to announce a new S Band.

The news hasn’t emerged officially, but through slides from a leaked sales guide which indicate that the fitness tracker may be let out into the market as a Galaxy S5 accessory. But the gadget won’t just be compatible with the upcoming flagship smartphone, it will also play nice with 13 other devices from Samsung.

Although SamMobile who posted the tidbit says that its design is close to that of the Gear Fit, we really don’t see enough similarity to say the same. The S Band will have a watchface that does not flaunt a screen. Instead, this will only act like a sensor which relays all the data and tracking details it collects to the smartphone it is paired up with.

Of course, the band won’t work with your handset unless you have compatible apps on it such as Activity Tracker 3.0 or S Health tools. The usual kind of information such as steps taken or calories burned as well as call/message notifications will be offered by the wearable in addition to some interesting ones such sleep efficiency.
