For a tablet to appear more attractive than competitors, a good quality display is a must and Samsung seems to have realized this as rumors are rife that the company has started the production of 7″ AMOLED screens with WSVGA 600 x 1024p resolution. According to Oled-Display.net, the manufacturer may release tablets incorporated with this kind of a screen in the near future.

Back in September last year, Samsung had introduced the Galaxy Tab 7.7 which boasted of a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display possessing a WXGA resolution of 1280 x 800p. The company may either use their AMOLED display screens in their forthcoming tablets or sell them to other slate manufacturing companies such as Asus or Sony.

The new type of display that Samsung has supposedly started developing is said to be much brighter than the 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus one on the Galaxy Tab. The upcoming screen is most likely to feature 400 nit brightness which is higher than the 250 nit that the Galaxy Tab sports. Although it is believed to deliver a richer image quality, the display may possess a lower resolution compared to its 7.7-inch counterpart.

If speculations are anything to go by, then Asus and Sony may most probably use this AMOLED display for their tablet PC products. The latter has already equipped its PlayStation Vita gaming console with a 5-inch AMOLED screen.
