Samsung Jelly Bean upgrade may arrive for some devices

Samsung Galaxy S III JB

After HTC gave fans a bit of hope on the incorporation of Google’s latest mobile OS in its devices, news of a Samsung Jelly Bean update has bounced in too. However, considering that many handsets are yet to receive ICS, the upgrade looks remote at present.

According to an official statement from Samsung, the South-Korea based manufacturer will announce devices eligible for Android 4.1 updates soon enough. For now, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S smartphones will be the first to experience Jelly Bean.

According to a post on Pocketnow, it’s too early for companies to comment on the upgrades, considering that any future issues may lead to a bit of a mess as seen with other phones in the past. Some precise details on the Android 4.1 updates are expected to arrive sometime this month though.

Talking about Jelly Bean, this new OS brings with it a host of interface tweaks along with the inclusion of new technologies. First off, users can answer calls or reply to messages through notifications directly. Reworked Voice Search has been included in the fresh software which means that simply asking Google a question should work.

Likewise, an attribute called Google Now provides regular updates related to the weather or traffic at suitable times of the day. The mobile OS was unveiled at the Google I/O event that took place just recently and the only bit of trouble it’s had so far has to do with Flash.

At present, the exact Samsung Jelly Bean update release date has not been disclosed.
