Earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 was announced by the South Korean company and even as reviews of this new handset have start cropping up online, its Indian price and pre-order date have also come forth. The second-gen premium foldable phone from Samsung will be made available for purchase in India at Rs 1,49,999. That price is very much in parity with its US price of $1,999, which translates to around Rs 1,47,000. Pre-orders will start being taken on September 14, while the actual release date still remains a mystery.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be available through Samsung.com and leading retail stores in two color options, Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze. Pre-ordering customers will be granted a no-cost EMI option for 12 months at Samsung Experience Stores and Samsung.com. They will also be provided with free YouTube Premium membership for 4 months.
This new Samsung phone boasts of a horizontally folding design that hides a larger display on the inside and holds a smaller display on the outside, just like its predecessor. However, there are many things it does differently. For starters, the outer display is much larger this time and leaves very little space for bezels. It’s a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED panel with an 816 x 2260 pixel resolution. As for the other panel, it’s a folding 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1768 x 2208 pixels.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 boasts of a new hinge design that enables the phone to stay open at newer angles, thus expanding its usage scenarios. It’s powered by the 7nm Snapdragon 865+ chipset and offers 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. Three 12MP cameras with wide, telephoto and ultra-wide lenses make their way onto its rear surface, while two 10MP front cameras sit nestled within the punch-holes of its two displays.
Stay tuned for the Indian release date of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2.
