U.S. Cellular is finally kicking off its line-up of LTE enabled devices with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. It is now available for purchase through the company’s retail outlets and online stores as well.

As its name suggests, the slate has a 10.1-inch WXGA touchscreen. It displays images in an HD resolution of 1280 x 800p. Embedded with a 1GHz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, the gadget operates on Honeycomb, the tablet optimized version of Android. Access to Google Play will open the gates to numerous applications including games, apps and more.

“The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the first of many cutting-edge devices slated for use on the 4G LTE network,” conveyed Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular. “This sleek and functional tablet makes it easier than ever for busy customers to simplify and organize their lives.”

While the front panel is dotted by a 2MP snapper, the flip side shows off a 3.2MP camera with attributes like auto focus, LED flash and 720p HD video recording. Equipped with 4G LTE connectivity, the device is said to offer up to 10 times faster speed as compared to 3G. The embedded battery aids the slate to survive approximately 12 hours of usage or nearly 400 hours on standby.

The U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 price is revealed to be $499.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate. As a part of an introductory offer, this price has been slashed by $100, with buyers in certain areas having to pay only $399.99, plus the mail-in rebate charges.
