Samsung Galaxy S6 flagship smartphone teased, to be revealed on March 1

Samsung has sent out invites for an event on March 1 which is expected to reveal the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S Edge and a Tizen-based smartwatch. What’s more, the company is apparently hinting at a curved design for the Galaxy S6, going by the image accompanying the invitation.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge build didn’t enjoy rave reviews; so we don’t see why the body of the S6 will do much better. If there’s a curve going on somewhere on the South Korean brand’s next flagship, then all the leaked photos have been lying. Of course, there are also unsubstantiated rumors that two versions of the Galaxy S6 will be launched.

As for the actual invite, it simply says ‘What’s Next’ and ‘Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2015’ while confirming Barecelona which will be hosting the Mobile World Congress, to be the destination. SamMobile thinks the Samsung Galaxy S Edge with its dual-edged display and a smartwatch running on the Tizen OS will also show up at the March 1st event.

Codenamed Orbis, the watch is anticipated to flaunt a round face and do without certain key features such as allowing users to answer a call right through the wearable. Samsung’s Gear series permits this function and also sports squarish designs. You will be able to see it all unfold even if you’re not in Barcelona for the event since it will be streamed live.

Samsung Galaxy S6 rumored specs:

– Android 5.0 Lollipop OS
– 20MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing lens
– 5.2-inch to 5.3-inch 1440 x 2560p AMOLED screen
– 4GB of RAM
– Snapdragon 810 or 64-bit Exynos 7420 processor

All we can say is that if the Samsung Galaxy S6 is going to make a statement with its ‘curved design’, there’d better be a truly useful point to it.
