Samsung Galaxy S4 software update tackles storage issues, increases legibility

The Samsung Galaxy S4 has received a software update addressing various issues which had been faced by the smartphone upon its launch. Although Samsung has proffered this update only for those with Snapdragon-driven units in possession, the variants packing Exynos chipsets will be subjected to this upgrade shortly.

We’ll begin with mentioning that the South Korean manufacturer has focused on the 16GB model which has received multiple complaints for offering only 9.15GB of space to store content. It has tended to this issue by facilitating transfer of apps to the SD card, but has managed to make only a trifling surplus capacity accessible to owners. The Samsung Galaxy S4 will now permit hoarding of up to 9.23GB data, says a post on SamMobile.

In terms of the camera, a firmware has been rolled out and it will now be possible for people to record HDR videos. Those who have been witnessing the purple smudge while scrolling can now heave a sigh of relief, since the company is said to have fixed that hitch as well, through the upgrade. A toggle has been added so as to allow switching Smart Pause on and off as per users’ convenience.

On updating the Samsung Galaxy S4, owners will find that a fresh semi-transparent status bar has been added to the user interface along with new icons in Settings. Increased clarity of the display and inclusion of secure boot status in the About Phone tab are additional set of modifications that have been undertaken.
