The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini has been introduced in India at an event held in Mumbai and the device is all set to go up for sale in the country along with its sibling the zoom, a phone complete with a 16MP camera. Samsung had also introduced a compact version of the S3 back in 2012, but that device had mysteriously stayed away from the subcontinent. Nevertheless, the latest flagship’s toned down variant is here already.
Just like its elder sibling, the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini drags along a number of applications such as S Translator, S Health, S Travel, ChatOn, Adapt Display and Adapt Sound. The gadget that comes enclosed in a form factor measuring 124.6 x 61.3 x 8.94 millimeters, accommodates a 4.29-inch Super AMOLED qHD display on the front surface as well as a 1.9MP webcam capable of recording HD videos. Its screen can render clear visuals in 1080p resolution.
The rear panel of the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini plays host to an 8MP camera with auto focus, digital zoom, LED flash and features like panorama and Sound & Shot amongst others. Pictures and videos captured using the device in question can either be saved on the phone’s 8GB memory or on a microSD card of not more than 64GB capacity that can be slipped into a dedicated expansion slot.
Furthermore, the responsibility of maintaining smooth multitasking falls on the shoulders of a dual core processor ticking at 1.7GHz. It is accompanied by 1.5GB of RAM as well. It goes without saying that the device takes the assistance of the Android Jelly Bean platform which in turn brings an intuitive interface to the table. The smartphone will come drenched in shades of black mist and white frost.
The Galaxy S4 mini will soon be up for grabs for a price of Rs 27,900. Reliance customers will be glad to know that they will receive 2GB of 3G data free of charge for three months along with the gadget.
