The Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G MetroPCS is apparently the carrier’s first 4G LTE smartphone to arrive with Mobile Hotspot connectivity. And to promote their newest member, the handset can be picked up on a no contract basis with data plans starting at $40 a month.

To begin with, the handset is built around the dimensions of 5.11” x 2.66” x 0.46” and it weighs approximately 4.87 ounces. A 4.3” Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen dominates the front panel, while an 8MP camera with LED flash, is fixed to the rear end. Also, there is a 1.3MP snapper that facilitates video conferencing while on the move.

Resting beneath the hood is a 1GHz processor that aids in multitasking. Along with 32GB of external storage, the company has even thrown in a 16GB memory card to cater to memory needs. Users can browse the internet, check mails or even download apps, games and much more over Wi-Fi and cellular network. The handset is also equipped with other connectivity features including Bluetooth.

Apart from the above mentioned highlights, the smartphone is claimed to be the first in the US to provide Dyle mobile TV. With this service, users will be able to view local and national channels on their handset. Lastly, the Gingerbread-powered gadget is capable of delivering 200 hours of standby time on a single charge.
