Samsung’s popular Galaxy line-up of handsets has a new addition dubbed Prevail based on Google’s Android platform. Boost Mobile recently announced that it will soon be putting up the Samsung Galaxy Prevail on the Sprint network for sale.

The stylish Samsung Galaxy Prevail smartphone runs on the Android 2.2 or Froyo OS with easy access to over 100,000 applications via the Android Marketplace. It shows off a 3.2” touchscreen display for proffering a better multimedia screening experience. This handset integrates a 2MP camera with video recording capabilities for photography fanatics.

The device includes a host of basic features such as GPS support, caller ID, speakerphone with voice-activated dialing, Bluetooth, voice mail and more. Its display seamlessly switches between portrait and landscape mode based on the orientation in which the device is held for ease of use. The phone comes pre-installed with a several apps like Twidroyd, SCVNGR, Facebook, Poynt, Hookt, YouTube and ThinkFree Office.

The Samsung Galaxy Prevail will be made available by late April through Boost Mobile’s online website, at their retail stores or in select independent wireless dealer locations across the U.S at $179.99. By mid May users can grab the device from select retail outlets. The smartphone can be purchased coupled with Boost Mobile’s $50 Monthly Unlimited with Shrinkage plan.
