Samsung Galaxy Golden flip phone may come to India for Rs 49,990

Wonder who will go for the Rs 49,990-worth Samsung Galaxy flip phone, when users can easily buy the latest Note 10.1 for this price or the Note 3 which has been reduced to Rs 47,900 a few days ago. But we haven’t heard an official announcement regarding the company’s plans to release the flip handset in India as yet.

The guys over at AndroidOS.in happened to see a tweet from Mahesh Telecom that stated that the gadget will be here in a few days for the said price. It was released in South Korea back in August and has a few other siblings like the Hennessey and the Samsung SM-W2014 which show off a similar form factor and run Android.

Although it adopts a retro design, its specs sheet is anything but that. As we already said, it makes the most of the Google Android OS, Jelly Bean version 4.2 to be precise and like any other clamshell phone, employs dual screens. Both the displays are of the Super AMOLED type and measure 3.7 inches diagonally. It goes without saying that an alphanumeric keypad has been fitted on the phone as well.

Additionally, the Galaxy Golden has been fitted with an 8MP camera capable of capturing good-quality videos. And as far as the internal working of the phone is concerned, it is carried out under the supervision of a dual core processor that can clock in a maximum speed of 1.7GHz. A business card recognition software has also been loaded in the gadget along with FM radio, S Health and more.

The exact availability details of the Samsung Galaxy Golden for India are not known.
