The ZTE Open Firefox smartphone has come to India without much fanfare and has already been put up for sale through eBay.in at a price that’s little less than Rs 7,000. This e-retailer has also been selling the gadget in the US and the UK. The device was released back in July through Telefonica in Spain.
Only recently, a couple of other Firefox-based smartphones went up for sale through Telefonica Vivo in Brazil. Both the LG Fireweb and the Alcatel Onetouch Fire also fall in the affordable phone category, just like the device in question. Mozilla claims that this OS brings advanced search capabilities and offer customized results for your query along with related applications and services.
So here’s what you can expect from this gadget. It is a compact device that flaunts a 3.5-inch diagonal TFT touchscreen of 320 x 480p resolution. A Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7225A Cortex A5 processor that can clock in a maximum speed of 1GHz has been assigned the responsibility of maintaining smooth internal working and supporting multiple applications at the same time.
An Adreno 200 GPU hides within the confines of the phone to enhance its graphics and 256MB of RAM has been tossed into the mix as well. It contains merely 512MB of free storage space and since it is likely to be insufficient, the company has carved a microSD slot for a memory card of not more than 32GB capacity.
Coming to the camera, the smartphone employs a single snapper with a 2MP lens for capturing decent-quality pictures and videos. The Wi-Fi-enabled gadget with dimensions of 114 x 62 x 12.5 millimeters, draws power from a lithium-ion battery of 1200mAh capacity.
The ZTE Open Firefox is available now through eBay India for Rs 6,990.
