Samsung devices in the US to receive ICS update soon

After the 2011 Sony Xperia smartphones got an ICS upgrade just recently, Samsung has wasted no time in revealing the same details for its devices. The information is with respect to the US and includes carriers like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

First up, the Galaxy S2 (SGH-i777), Nexus S (SGH-i9020A), Galaxy Note (SGH-i717), Galaxy Tab 8.9 (SGH-i957), Captivate Glide (SGH-i927) and Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (SGH-i727) being sold via AT&T will get the upgrade. Additionally, the Nexus S 4G (SPH-d720) and Epic 4G Touch (SPH-d710) will also sail the same boat through Sprint.

As mentioned on Ubergizmo, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 (SCH-i815) and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (SCH-i905) having Verizon as their network provider, should get the treat soon enough. Even the Wi-Fi variants of the Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wi-Fi (P7310), Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Wi-Fi (P6210) and Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi (P7510) will be eligible for the same.

With regards to T-Mobile, the devices that are scheduled to welcome the upgrade have not been listed precisely. At the same time, Samsung says that it is coordinating with the carrier regarding the update to ICS. The software build is expected to arrive in the months to come and the company will notify its users on the same.

With every other Android mobile device in the rat race for acquiring the ICS update, it does not come as a surprise that the South Korea-based company is trying for the same. As stated above, all the aforementioned phones being retailed in the US are expected to get the ICS update soon.
