No more will the Samsung Hennessy, a dual screen Android flip phone, form a part of rumors as today is the day the South Korean company confirms its existence. Samsung has posted the smartphone on its official website, authenticating most of the prior estimations.
We’ll begin with saying that the pictures which had drifted out into the open yesterday, courtesy of Sammy Hub, are bang on. Yes, both screens indeed stretch as much as 3.3 inches diagonally, each coughing up visuals at a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. And a 5MP camera has been posted on the flip side.
It isn’t that the camera’s position bothers us, but had the snapper been placed on the flap along with the outer display, capturing self portraits could have been a possibility. Moving on, the phone depends on a 1.2GHz quad core processor as well as a 1,500mAh battery to stay alive and kicking. The Android device’s connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
There is no information concerning the inbuilt storage, but the prevalence of a microSD card slot has been mentioned. Even system memory details haven’t been revealed, but based on earlier reports we could expect to find 1GB of RAM.
We doubt that the Hennessy will be leaving the boundaries of Taiwan. But look for a similar clamshell smartphone dubbed Galaxy Folder with comparatively better specs, which has yet to journey from rumor to reality.
