Samsung and T-Mobile unveil texting phones

T-Mobile Samsung Phones T-Mobile USA and Samsung Mobile have jointly announced their latest line-up of text friendly phones. The series includes the Samsung Comeback (SGH-t559) and Samsung Gravity 2 (SGH-t469).

These handsets are exclusively offered through T-Mobile USA and feature full QWERTY keyboards, T9 predictive text and auto word completion. Users can benefit from T-Mobile’s high-speed 3G network enabling faster downloads and quick Web accessibility.

The Samsung Comeback is elegantly designed with a unique side-flip that reveals the full QWERTY keyboard. The phone adds a new dimension to messaging capabilities by providing access to e-mail, text, picture, video and instant messaging. The handset incorporates a built-in 2 MP camera with digital zoom. It is enhanced by T-Mobile’s 3G network that facilitates users to capture and send pictures to friends and family or upload images to their favorite social networking sites, effortlessly.

“Our customers send and receive a lot of text messages; therefore it’s important that we offer phones that compliment the way our customers communicate. We’re excited to be working with Samsung on these two new messaging phones, the Samsung Comeback and Samsung Gravity 2,” mentioned Wendy Piñero-DePencier, vice president, brand and calendar marketing, T-Mobile USA.

The messaging phone is available in pearl white plum or frost silver cherry colors. The handset comes with a MP3 player and supports up to 16GB of expandable memory.

“Samsung’s new messaging phones are fun and easy to use to match the needs of our customers. The Comeback, Gravity 2 and t349 offer the best in messaging, fun color options and access to customers’ favorite multimedia features,” stated Paul Golden, Chief Marketing Officer for Samsung Mobile.

Like its predecessor which was launched last year, the Samsung Gravity 2 features horizontal, slide-out QWERTY keyboard and boasts a thinner, sleeker design. The Gravity 2 offers cool color options like berry mauve and metallic pumpkin. It provides multiple messaging capabilities, 2-megapixel camera, camcorder, built-in MP3 player and expandable memory up to 16GB.

Powered by T-Mobile’s web2go service, both these handsets provide access to the entire web. The handsets offer a personalized home page that provides one-click access to their favorite Web sites. Users can also experience faster search results with Yahoo OneSearch, live news feeds with the web2go widget. Apart from this, it incorporates a host of T-Mobile services including the latest ringtones, games, wallpapers and applications.

The Comeback is available in T-Mobile stores starting from 22nd July, 2009 for $129.99 with a two-year service agreement. The Gravity 2 is expected to be available next month.
