The SafeSound AIRbudz that has hit Kickstarter is novel in every sense, meaning the earbuds claim to let ambient sound in, unlike most other similar peripherals. They have been designed keeping in mind scenarios like traveling and biking where listening to surrounding noises is necessary.

These attachments are made in such a way that the concerned wearer can listen to music, with the sound in the environment buzzing in the ears as well. The accessory carries built-in air channels that keep surrounding sounds as well as the music within hearing. It should fit nearly 70% of all in-ear headphones which have removable earbuds. Potential users simply have to take off the noise cancellation buds from the concerned earphones and replace them with a pair of earbuds in question.

“Our goal at SafeSound Products is to keep the focus on safety while using technology in every aspect of our lives. As a mother of two young and very active children it was important that when they were riding bikes, skateboards, scooters or just walking while listening to their headphones that they stayed safe and could hear their surroundings,” commented Tammy Erdel, Founder of SafeSound Products.

The pair can be picked up in 3 sizes of small, medium and large dressed in combinations of primary colors, glow in the dark, jewel tones, rastafari, neon, monochrome and patriotic. Currently, people pledging a sum of $10 or more would be offered the first set of the gear along with a carrying case specific to Kickstarter. A pledge of $20 or more would give backers the first packages of AIRbudz, the case mentioned above and a pair of headphones. Apart from these, there are many more offers lined up.

The company is looking for up to $22,000 in support to bring the SafeSound AIRbudz into the market.
