Rogers Wireless reduces the price of HTC Dream and HTC Magic

Rogers Wireless Logo The HTC Dream and the HTC Magic have been on sale in Canada for only a month now. However, that has not prevented Rogers Wireless from lowering the 3 year contract price by $50, according to BGR. This means that the HTC Magic and HTC Dream are now available for only $99.99.

There are two main reasons why Rogers Wireless is offering the price reduction. The first reason is that Rogers Wireless wants more people to purchase smartphones along with the required data plans.

The second reason is that Rogers Wireless is supposedly experiencing difficulty in persuading Canadians to purchase a smartphone that is not an Apple or a BlackBerry – the most popular smartphone brands in Canada.

The HTC Dream boasts of WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 support, GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/1900 radio and additionally features a ‘jog ball’ which functions like the navigation track ball. The HTC Magic brags of large 3.2 inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 3.2 MP camera with auto focus, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPRS, GSM and EDGE.

The price tag of $99.99 is very reasonable for these smartphones which are loaded with so many features.
