Rogers Wireless announces the most anticipated, quick messaging handset called the Nokia Surge in Canada. This latest handset allows users to keep in touch through faster messaging, text, or email, sending multimedia messages, OVI Share, or updating their status on social networks.

The Surge is uniquely designed with a full slide-and-hide QWERTY keyboard to offer quick typing. With this device in their palm, users can access their work and personal accounts. The Nokia Surge offers a rich browsing experience by displaying rich online content like desktops. With flash support, users can view most sites in full HTML. Its rich color display, clear and crisp graphics and auto screen rotation gives videos a realistic appearance.

The Nokia Surge is powered by Symbian S60 FP2 that makes multitasking simpler on its 2.4-inch display. The device lets users manage several tasks like composing a message while the IM program is running in the background and watching a video or playing music simultaneously.

“This phone is ideal for socially-connected consumers who are looking for a great email solution on their mobile device. The handset boasts of a 2.0 megapixel camera with 4x zoom and a dedicated camera key along with video recording and sharing capabilities. Users can share their precious moments with picture and video messaging or with Nokia’s free media sharing community called the Ovi share. It allows easy uploading, organizing and sharing of photos and videos with social networks from the phone to a PC.

The device comes loaded with Ovi Maps with Drive and Walk navigation that helps find ways, anywhere anytime. Users also receive the option to license voice guided and turn-by-turn navigation that helps in reaching their destination on time. The system also offers traffic updates along with restaurants, hotels and other suggestions on POIs. Users can create and share their favorite locations with maps.ovi.com.

Nokia has released attractive accessories for the Surge which includes the Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-103 that allows users to automatically switch between favorite tracks and important calls with just one click of a button. User can also enjoy wireless music and conversation in crystal clear stereo sound quality. Another accessory is the Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-804 that claims to be Nokia’s smallest wireless headset. It comes with a discreet design and the aluminum cover gives it a stylish look. This headset offers superior sound quality with DSP and is as light as a piece of gum.

To charge the phone’s battery in vehicles, Nokia has also released a lightweight travel charger plug called the Nokia Mobile Charger DC-6. It features broad compatibility with all phones with a micro USB charging connector. Users can receive calls in their vehicles with the stylish speakerphone called the Nokia Speakerphone HF-310. It can be connected to the device wirelessly with Bluetooth. For users’ convenience, it can be placed anywhere in the vehicle with the help of suction-cup mount, clip mount or dashboard mount.
