Boingo Wireless releases its authentication software and Boingo Mobile service for BlackBerry devices. Boingo Mobile app offers users an alternative to cellular data with one-click, high speed access to Boingo’s network of around 100,000 hotspots.
Initially, this app will be available for the BlackBerry Curve 8900, the BlackBerry Curve 8320 and BlackBerry Bold devices. Support for other BlackBerry smartphones will be declared as they release.
“Boingo Mobile is about ease of use and a low-cost, high-speed alternative to cellular data,” said Jonathan Mendelson, general manager of mobile and product management. “BlackBerry users can seamlessly switch to a Boingo Wi-Fi connection when they’re online using data-intensive applications.”
The Boingo Mobile app enhances the Wi-Fi user experience by offering an easy and automated way to connect. When users are in a Boingo hotspot, they are automatically informed and connected to the Boingo network with a single click.
With the new mobile app for BlackBerry devices, Boingo expands its support for smartphones, which includes devices based on Android, iPhone, Symbian Series 60 and Windows Mobile platform.
Boingo’s Mobile software for BlackBerry is based on public beta testing by Boingo Labs and includes extensive user feedback. The Boingo Mobile can be downloaded from the Boingo Download Center for free.
