Rogers has announced a couple of new devices as well as additional LTE plan options for Canada. The two aforesaid gadgets include the Sierra Wireless AirCard 330U model of the LTE Rocket stick and the Sierra Wireless AirCard 763S LTE Rocket mobile hotspot.
Both the Rogers offerings are capable of delivering LTE download speeds of up to 100Mbps. They are the first of their kind to be compatible with 1700/2100MHz as well as 2600MHz spectrum connectivity options on the service provider’s LTE network.
“We are thrilled to offer Canada’s fastest LTE devices on Canada’s fastest and largest LTE network. We were the first to launch an LTE network in Canada and we have invested in the network technology that enables us to keep raising the bar for our customers to experience faster speeds, more devices and more LTE plan options,” commented John Boynton, Rogers Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.
The company’s official blog, Rogers RedBoard, has also revealed that it will be expanding the range of 4G HSPA+ mobile internet plans to LTE devices. This covers the Flex Rate plan for the Rocket stick and mobile hotspot which have a starting monthly rate of $22.93.
Also on offer are Flex Rate plans for tablets commencing at $7.93 per month. The Canadian network operator is set to extend the collection of its LTE-ready packages for smartphones with the inclusion of Voice & Data Plans that cost $52.97 or upwards per month. Users will be allowed to add a $25/500MB Data Plan option to any voice plan.
The pricing details of the Sierra Wireless AirCard 330U model of the LTE Rocket stick and the Sierra Wireless AirCard 763S LTE Rocket mobile hotspot are scheduled to be released soon. While the former will be available within the next few weeks, the latter is expected to retail from spring. Rogers subscribers can register for these new LTE devices online at rogers.com/lte.
