Audiophiles who’ve loved playing Rock Band on their gaming consoles, now have dulcet news in store for them. Today, EA Mobile, Harmonix Music Systems and MTV Games team up to lift the curtains off the Rock Band Reloaded which is now optimized for the App Store. The iPhone variant promises to be loaded with a setlist of songs from well known artists such as Nirvana, Billy Idol, No Doubt, Nine Inch Nails and Vampire Weekend.

Users can pick up more than 20 songs with additional tracks being added throughout the holidays. Interestingly, gamers will now have a fifth way of playing by singing into their iPhones. The new vocal recognition features enable players to earn points as they sing their favorite songs. With the Encore function, iPhone owners can access their songs effortlessly using custom playlists.

“Rock Band Reloaded is the experience fans have been waiting for, innovating on the popular franchise and bringing the entire band onto the iPad and iPhone for the first time,” asserted Travis Boatman, Vice President of Worldwide Studios for EA Mobile. “These games bring a deep Rock Band experience to mobile players in very cool and creative new ways. Innovative vocal recognition features, social integration connecting players to their friends and challenging gameplay modes will drive forward the mobile music genre and provide the best music experience to players.”

The Rock Band Reloaded application will be loaded with a setlist of songs subsuming titles such as Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down, Hella Good by No Doubt Your Decision by Alice in Chains, In Bloom by Nirvana, White Wedding by Billy Idol and A-Punk by Vampire Weekend. Other than the above, free songs can be procured from the Music Store along with Premium Packs featuring The All American Rejects, Blink-182, Third Eye Blind as well as other artists through In App purchase.

Additionally, it includes the fresh Expert mode for veteran players coupled with the World Tour mode that lets them jam in six cities and 36 events earning almost 50 awards and achievements. Using Facebook, gaming aficionados can explore the News Center which features details on new song launches and allow them to follow friends or challenge them to an intriguing jamming session. If players prefer team work, they can call over their friends to make music using local Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The game supports up to three band mates playing on their own iPhones.
