About last month, the quarters of interesting tidbits were discovered revealing some entrancing details regarding the BlackBerry 6 operating system. Now, RIM has officially released the BlackBerry 6, a new OS for BlackBerry smartphones that includes several performance features and offers easy interface. The most recently unleashed solution makes the scene with a redesigned interface that seamlessly works with touchscreens and trackpads.

The enhanced messaging capabilities, rendered by the operating system, advance social media while RSS feeds offer immersive media experience. Users can now easily access the native BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, AOL Instant Messenger, Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger applications with utmost ease. On the other hand, ‘Social Feeds’ enables users to view their friends’ activities across multiple social networks and post updates at the same time. Apart from this, users can now easily add their favorite RSS Feeds from the Social Feeds app or directly from a website while browsing.

With BlackBerry 6, users can access icons which are arranged on the homescreen in five customizable views. Users can also move their icons where they want, and add contacts or web page shortcuts directly to the homescreen. Accessing various features of the app by clicking and holding the trackpad has also got easier. The new offering now allows users to conveniently multitask with the ability to instantly swap multiple apps. It features tabs for multiple sites, while the auto-wrap text zoom feature wraps text in a column without disrupting a page’s essential elements. The Universal Search tool and Web-Kit-based browser further turn web browsing into a great experience.

BlackBerry 6 promises to offer exceptional features like pinch to zoom, SMS, MMS, the ability to view conversations in one threaded chat, and the ability to share photos, videos and rich content. Multimedia experience has been improved with album art embedded in the latest music and video players. The software incorporates media sync for syncing images and videos. It can also sync iTunes and Windows Media Player music with the smartphone.

The Wi-Fi Music Sync feature now enables users to create, view and edit playlists, and select music for download. Besides, BlackBerry 6 offers a wide array of camera modes which help one click vibrant images. Users can edit, share and organize with intuitive options for grouping photos. The latest Podcast app enables users to find and manage audio and video simultaneously. Users can view, browse available podcast for download, subscribe to them and effortlessly download them on the smartphone. Users can easily look for videos with the help of the new Universal Search tool in BlackBerry 6.

BlackBerry 6 will debut on the new BlackBerry Torch smartphone available through AT&T on August 12, 2010. The OS is also designed to run on select BlackBerry handsets already in the market. The new software is anticipated to be available for the BlackBerry Bold 9700, BlackBerry Bold 9650 and BlackBerry Pearl 3G, as well as future BlackBerry smartphones.
