In a unique collaboration, Digital China joined hands with RIM to distribute BlackBerry smartphones in China. This agreement is seen as a premeditated business plan.
The initiative should aid RIM to enlarge its business more in China by benefiting from Digital China’s local proficiency and countrywide distribution system.
Guo Wei, Chairman and CEO, Digital China, commented, “As the leading IT service provider and distributor in China, Digital China has always believed in advanced and cutting-edge products that deliver value to Chinese customers. Through this collaboration, RIM will leverage Digital China’s proven professional services and nationwide coverage to reach more customers and to increase the visibility of the BlackBerry solution across the country.”
Jim Balsillie, Co-CEO, Research In Motion, stated, “We are delighted to reach a distribution agreement with Digital China. Business partnerships are an important aspect of RIM’s strategy and Digital China’s extensive knowledge and market presence will further expand the opportunity for RIM in China.”
BlackBerry is alleged to be a superlative mobile communications platform. Smartphones from the company keep users connected with potent email, messaging, phone, organizer, Internet and multimedia applications. The smartphones can also offer access to an extensive variety of other mobile business and consumer applications.
To see if RIM and Digital China benefit from this partnership, guess we’ll have to wait and watch.
