Last week we reported about the rumors regarding the launch of this phone. And here it comes, as RIM officially launches BlackBerry 9000 or Bold. This smartphone boasts about its premium design and unprecedented performance making it perfect for business professionals and power users.

This smartphone is the first Blackberry that supports tri-band HSDPA high speed networks. It has integrated GPS and WiFi along with rich multimedia features. This Blackberry looks truly stunning with a lustrous black exterior, satin chrome finished frame, leather-feel backplate, awesome display and full-QWERTY keyboard.

With tri-band HSDPA, WiFi 802.11a/b/g networks and next generation 624MHz mobile processor downloading email attachments, streaming video or rendering web pages will be faster. It also features 128MB Flash memory, Bluetooth 2.0, 1GB on-board memory and microSD/SDHC memory card slot. A 1500mAhr battery provides multi-hour usage with target talk time of 5 hours and 13 days stand by. This Blackberry works with thousands of mobile business and lifestyle applications, making it easier to stay connected, productive and entertained. This smartphones also allows you to talk on the phone while accessing the web, sending or receiving emails. It also enables users to download Word, Excel and PowerPoint and edit them using the pre-loaded DataViz Documents to Go suite.

The Blackberry Bold has a 480×320 pixels LCD fused to the undersurface of the lens making the images look clear and defined. The pictures, videos, documents, messages etc leap out with exceptional quality and contrast. The new high performance browser, high resolution and display give the user an amazing desktop–style web browsing experience. The trackball acts a mouse and enables easy navigation and the ability to zoom in specific parts of the web. Attachments can be downloaded from within the browser and it supports watching streaming videos.

Blackberry Bold also features a 2 megapixel camera with video recording, built-in flash, 5x digital zoom, media player, ability to play movies in full screen mode and manage a large music collection. Audio can be played on the handset’s dual speaker and can also be used over wired headphones or external speakers. The media player helps you create a perfect ambiance with filters like “Lounge”, “Jazz”, and “Hip Hop” which can boost or soften audio ranges.

The Blackberry Desktop Manager software includes Roxio Media Manager as well as Roxio Photosuite 9 LE which helps you manage videos and pictures. You can also enhance pictures as well as create photo albums. BlackBerry Media Sync application allows you to sync iTunes digital music collections. You can quickly transfer files from a desktop computer to the BlackBerry Bold smartphone with the use of High Speed USB 2.0.

For high-speed network coverage, the BlackBerry Bold smartphone supports the 802.11 a/b/g Wi-Fi standards over Wi-Fi hotspots and on wireless home networks. Its BlackBerry Enterprise Server enables advanced security and IT administration within IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise environments and BlackBerry Professional Software for small businesses. You can access up to 10 work or personal email accounts including ISP with the BlackBerry Internet Service. It also provides BlackBerry Unite! a software for home users and SOHO.

Blackberry Bold comes with several easy-to-use accessories like a stereo headset, travel charger, carrying case and USB cable. You can now personalize your Blackberry smartphone by purchasing Leather – like backplate available in a range of colors. The accessories also include leather holsters and totes, charging pods, premium ear phones and the Blackberry Remote Stereo Gateway and Bluetooth headsets. The Blackberry Bold smartphone will be available from wireless carriers this summer. The pricing is said to be in the range of $200 to $400.
