Riff Raters iPhone app generates musical riffs

Riff Raters Icon Many music based applications have hit the Apple App Store earlier. However, the latest app introduced by Joy Entertainment LLC in association with iPhone application developer Big Nerd Ranch seems innovative. The Riff Raters app allows iPhone users to create musical riffs with their own instruments by means of the Apple device.

The app was developed to assist musicians and music enthusiasts in sharing their original riffs with the world. Riffs are nothing but short repeated melodic phrases that last just about twenty seconds. With the Riff Raters application, musicians can record original riffs on their iPhone with any instrument.

Gautam Godse, Software Director of Big Nerd Ranch, Inc., on Riff Raters, stated, “The iPhone is fast approaching 100,000 applications, with music applications numbering in the thousands. This application is unlike anything on the market and we believe it will quickly become one of the most popular musical apps in the entire iTunes store.”

“Riff Raters enables musicians to spread the news about their music and expand their fan base”, mentioned Joy Glenwright, CEO of Joy Entertainment LLC.

iPhone users can edit riffs with reverb and trimming tools, enabling them to achieve the exact sound they wish for. They can then post the original riff to Riff Raters, where they can see it feature in the Top 25 charts. With the geo-tagging functionality, musicians can show off their location to others.

The Riff Raters iPhone app can be downloaded from the Apple iTunes App Store for $1.99.
