Rhapsody Logo Those who like tripping the light fantastic or sally forth their morning with symphonic tunes hovering behind may feel good about this piece of news. For music admirers, Rhapsody recently announced the launch of its widely-accepted mobile application for BlackBerry, the Rhapsody for BlackBerry.

With this music-oriented app on the screen, subscribers can now snugly latch onto the award-winning music service from anywhere with a network connection. Users can also enjoy their playlists and discover new music through playlists and radio stations programmed by the service’s music editors.

“We are committed to bringing the Rhapsody experience anywhere our subscribers wish to enjoy digital entertainment, be it the mobile device, MP3 player, home audio system or television,” stated Brendan Benzing, chief product officer, Rhapsody. “Paramount to this is creating an optimal experience that is tailored for each specific device, exemplified by the BlackBerry app.”

Designed to render an immersive musical journey, the new Rhapsody for BlackBerry app integrates the hardware on the ubiquitous Curve (version 5.0 and higher), enabling users to operate the media, mute and volume buttons. This app can also be controlled by the virtue of Bluetooth-enabled headsets.

Apart from this, the app puts forth charts of top tracks, albums and artists, lists featuring new releases and editor recommendations, along with the top stations on Rhapsody Radio. Augmenting the experience, the software comes enriched with features like Search, My Playlists and New This Week.

In addition to this app for BlackBerry owners, the company has also simplified the music download experience for iPhone users, with an updated version of its iPhone app, available now on iTunes.

The new Rhapsody for BlackBerry app can be downloaded now from the company’s official website, and will also be made available at BlackBerry App World and other app stores. Users will be offered a free seven-day trial of the Rhapsody mobile app, after which they can snap up a Rhapsody subscription for $9.99 per month.
