The Awesome America plan introduced by Reliance Communications claims to offer huge discounts in data and voice charges for people who travel to the US. But not all users can make the most of this offer, only those who have a GSM postpaid card can expect lower charges while roaming in the US.
This company has revealed that the international roaming tariff discount pack is only for the US and when activated, reduces the voice, SMS and data charges considerably in comparison with the base rates. Data charges are reduced by up to 98 percent, while making local voice calls in the American country costs 76 percent less than the actual price.
Those traveling to the said nation will have to get the Rs 849 plan activated which has a validity of 30 days. Incoming calls cost Rs 90 when roaming internationally in the US, but the plan slashes it to Rs 40 per minute which is a flat 56 percent discount. Outgoing calls within the country and to India set users back by Rs 70 and Rs 165, respectively, but both get reduced to Rs 40 with the pack.
Text message charge which is supposed to be Rs 15, has been reduced to Rs 10. But the major deduction has been made to the data rates. The base tariff per MB is 614.4 on international roaming and Reliance has decided to decrease it to a great extent and make it Rs 10 for every megabyte.
The Awesome America tariff plan of Rs 849 can be activated through a Reliance call center or any company outlet. The amount will be added to the subsequent bill.
