Amidst the many goodies showcased at the CES 2012, is Razer’s new Project Fiona PC gaming tablet. Touted to be the first slate designed for PC gaming, it is still in the concept stage and a prototype model is being showcased at the tech event.

This Razer mobile device features an intuitive control setup and claims to deliver a cutting edge gaming experience. It combines the portable form factor of a tablet along with various qualities of a fully functioning PC as it operates on the third generation Intel Core i7 processor.

Min-Liang Tan, CEO, Razer, stated, “While multi-touch screens have become the de facto user interface for tablets, they are not the right interface for serious PC gaming. The user interface we have designed for Project Fiona allows all existing PC games to be played right out of the box and also provides game developers new opportunities as they develop next-gen games on a highly-intuitive platform. Both developers and gamers are going to love the new user interface that combines the best of a gamepad, multi-touch screen and accelerometers for an all-new gaming experience on-the-go.”

An all new hybrid user interface has been devised specially for the gaming tablet. It comes integrated with dual game controllers sporting ultra-precise analog sticks and lets users enjoy gamepad-enabled PC titles. Furthermore, avid gamers could benefit from the precise accelerometers and sensitive multi-touch screen that this slate possesses.

The Razer Project Fiona PC gaming tablet is expected to begin shipping in Q4 2012, tagged with a price that reads under $1,000. It is currently being displayed at the ongoing CES.
