Qik video services free on Sprint HTC Evo 4G phone

HTC Qik first launched its alpha version in 2007 and public beta the next year. It seems to have kicked off well since then. The official Qik blog, has clarified that the new two-way Qik video chat service will be free of cost for all HTC Sprint Evo 4G users.

It was previously assumed that the company would charge a monthly fee for their video chat services. Those who’ve been waiting to pick up the Sprint HTC Evo 4G seem to have been dissatisfied over these inaccurate speculations about Qik’s video chat tariff plans for the device.

Apart from denying the speculations, the company has also revealed plans to incorporate certain advanced features to the service. Users can avail of the aforesaid additional features by paying stipulated subscription charges.

Details regarding Qik’s video service subscriptions and new offers will be out on June 4 next month. The HTC Evo 4G handset is also slated to be released on the same day through Sprint.
