Cloud Engines has introduced Pogoplug Mobile, a hardware cloud companion for mobile handsets. This device allows streaming data from handsets to PCs and other mobile phones. It also acts as a storage device and can store as well as stream entire libraries of photos, videos and music.

Although it works with several mobile phones, the company claims the Pogoplug Mobile to be optimized for the iPhone and Android devices. For iPhone devices, Pogoplug offers unlimited and instant steaming of media libraries. Android users can enjoy a unified sharing and streaming service with auto-generated home backup.

“People today have an almost unlimited need to create and consume multimedia content on their mobile devices. Unfortunately, their devices just can’t keep up; mobile storage remains too expensive. Pogoplug Mobile solves this problem by providing an incredible streaming and at-home backup solution that turns any mobile device into a limitless media library,” said Daniel Putterman, CEO and Founder of Cloud Engines.

The device has no limit on storage and can stream complete library of multimedia content from PCs to mobile phones. Once on Pogoplug, content can be easily shared with multiple devices. Also, users can access these files from anywhere by using the Pogoplug desktop software, mobile app, or creating a my.pogoplug.com account.

Pogoplug mobile slated to hit markets around October 2011, is priced at $79.99. Pre-orders are now being accepted online at pogoplug.com/mobile. Pogoplug app for iPhone and Android devices is available for free download at iTunes or the Android Market.
