Plants vs. Zombies

The plants and zombies are at it once again and this time not only on the PC and Mac platform but on other mobile systems as well. PopCap Games unleashes the acclaimed Plants vs. Zombies for the iPhone and iPod touch. The tower defense title follows the same game design of its previous release but sees it specially fashioned for the portable devices with exclusive content and features.

Continuous action can be espied in 50 infinitely replayable levels which lets gamers defend their house from brain-eating zombies. They can be confused and weakened by a variety of specialized, zombie-battling plants. These plants aid in finally defeating the undead creatures before encroaching onto the yard and front door. Through selection of plants, use of resources and clever placement, players can successfully defeat over two dozen different kinds of zombies. They each have their own combination of behavior and skill. Gamers will be bombarded with additional obstacles in later levels like a creeping fog, the setting of the sun and a swimming pool with aquatic zombies.

“Plants vs. Zombies for iPhone and iPod touch marks the first adaptation of our wildly popular ‘flower defense’ game to a new platform, and we’re excited at how well it has translated to the iPhone and iPod touch. We’ve stayed true to the original computer version with the full-featured gameplay of Adventure mode, and have optimized this adaptation around a seamless touch interface. Plus, we’ve added great content, including the new Quick Play Arena which allows easy replay of any level after completing the Adventure mode, and more than a dozen achievements to reward successful completion of in-game challenges,” said Andrew Stein, director of mobile platforms at PopCap Games.

Plants vs. Zombies for the iPhone and iPod Touch includes The Quick Play Arena which lets players replay any level after finishing 50 levels in Adventure mode. There are over a dozen achievements which can be bestowed on gamers for completing in-game challenges. Gamers can also choose from over four dozen plants such as peashooters, sunflowers, cherry bombs, melon-pults and wall-nuts.

The game also sees different types of zombie types like back-from-the-dead miners, football players, businessmen and a zombie bobsled team. The Suburban almanac follows the progress made by players and offers important plant and zombie stats. New plants, power-ups and zombie-exterminating tools can be brought at Crazy Dave’s trunk-o’-the-car shop. All the graphics bear a more lively appearance thanks to the new fluid animation technology. There are 11 original musical pieces which compliment the intensity of the gameplay perfectly.

Plants vs. Zombies can be acquired for a price of €2.39 from the Apple’s App Store.
