New LiMo handsets from Else, Panasonic and NEC unveiled

LiMo Foundation made its mark in Spain during the Mobile World Congress this year. The company revealed new LiMo compliant handsets from manufacturers like Panasonic Mobile Communications as well as Else and NEC. With these new inclusions, the complete number of LiMo devices unveiled till date is brought to a round figure of fifty.

According to the company, these handsets are ideal for mobile phone enthusiasts on the lookout for sleek feature-rich handsets. The latest offerings merge reliable performance with next-generation functionality. All these features and more are neatly packed in a variety of sophisticated device appearance. The models include sophisticated device and critical functionality while also employing keypad-to-touchpad conversion, waterproofing, extended battery life and high-megapixel auto-focus cameras.

“We welcome the arrival of these innovative new devices which attest to the richness and versatility of LiMo Platform. The continued growth of LiMo devices is further endorsement of LiMo’s vision, mission, and technologies,” explained Morgan Gillis, executive director of the LiMo Foundation.

The LiMo Compliant mobile phones that were recently revealed are three models from NEC for NTT DoCoMo. The docomo Style series N-01B is noted to be a slim handset which is fashioned by design house STNY and provides a fashion-conscious appearance. This particular offering can be seen drenched in many colors and patters while also being highly customizable. Besides housing an 8.1MP camera, the N-01B also comprises of other innovative features.

docomo Prime series N-02B boasts of a 12.2MP camera which includes a quick shooting capability. The fully featured phone provides automatic scene identification as well as high-speed connectivity for uploading images. The docomo Style series N-03B is waterproofed with water-pattern coating and possesses both rugged as well as chic qualities. The handset also includes a 3.2 inch WVGA screen, a built-in pedometer and an 8.1 MP camera with activate ECO mode.

The extended series of LiMo devices also features the likes of three offerings from Panasonic for NTT DoCoMo. The docomo Prime series P-01B is a Viera phone complete with a built-in high-speed auto-focus camera and keypad which also doubles as a touchpad. The full-featured mobile offers the latest multimedia technologies like games, audio, video and other forms of entertainment.

docomo Style series P-02B boasts of being a neat swing/slider phone with a touchscreen-operated camera. The phone can be spied in various hues and exuberates of high-fashion style. docomo Smart series P-03B is a smartly designed slim handset which possesses one of the longest battery lives amongst FOMA models according to the company. This particular device is ideal for customers who are looking to enhance their professional and private lives.

The Else Intuition handset from Else Ltd. was also noted to be a LiMo device. This user-friendly product offers a highly innovative user experience paradigm and superior functionality. No word yet on the pricing and availability of these devices.
