Pioneer Avic Feeds iPhone app syncs with in-dash navigation systems

Pioneer Avic Feeds iPhone App Several navigation systems for the iPhone have hit the markets and to make navigation more effortless, Pioneer has introduced the Avic Feeds iPhone app that ensures smooth functioning of Pioneer’s AVIC-U310BT and AVIC-Z110BT in-dash navigation systems.

The latest iPhone app creates a link between the Apple and Pioneer devices, enabling iPhone users to find points of interest or look for destinations before time right from the mobile device and accesses them via Bluetooth from their Pioneer navigation systems. Manually entering address information into the Pioneer unit is no longer needed and drivers can now receive turn-by-turn voice guidance and also use their iPhone device concurrently.

“We are continually looking for ways to enhance a driver’s experience by providing high quality navigation and entertainment products that incorporate convenience and safety features. After researching what technologies and consumer electronics products our registered owners embrace, we identified a natural opportunity to integrate the features and functions of our navigation systems with Apple’s iPhone,” remarked Ted Cardenas, director of marketing for the mobile business group of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

The app facilitates users to geo-tag photos on the iPhone with geographical metadata like location coordinates and are saved for future use as POI. The POI searched via the Avic Feeds app can be selected by choosing the pin drop of the desired location. Destinations created from a POI search or geotagged photos can be converted as a phone contact to the navigation system via Bluetooth.

The navigation system is capable of calculating a route and provides turn-by-turn guidance to the location of the contact person whose details are routed by means of the Pioneer system.

The Avic Feeds iPhone app can be downloaded from the Apple iTunes store or from Pioneer’s official website for free.
