philips-xenium-500The latest cell phone to create a stir in the mobile market is the Philips Xenium 500. In tandem with Philips mobile phones that are widely known for their powerful battery, the Xenium 500 too sticks in the family boasting of a pretty long battery life.

The phone is apparently incorporated with a 1720mAh battery that should give you a talk time of up to 16 hours and a standby time of something less than two months. The battery should last you an amazing 40 hours in playback music mode. So that will keep you entertained in case you’ve gone zonkers with your super stressful life.

Sporting an attractive candybar design, the Xenium 500 actually does not come with too many snazzy features. So it should appease those who love keeping it simple as far as utility is concerned. The phone features a 1.8” TFT display with 262K colours, a 1.3 megapixel camera with video capabilities and an integrated FM radio with RDS.

The GSM/GPRS/EDGE/900/1800/1900 phone is additionally attributed by Bluetooth connectivity, a music player, a 10MB internal memory and an external microSD memory card slot expandable up to 2GB.

While there’s no word on the price yet, the Philips Xenium 500 is expected to arrive first in China, followed by Russia and other eastern European countries. There’s no mention of a release in the West.
